2. What This App Does
Zee Employee Gps is a workforce-management tool for employers. It lets an employer define one or more geographic work-site boundaries ("geofences") and installs on each field/on-site employee's phone. The app verifies and records when an employee's device enters or leaves a configured work site, automatically marking attendance, and gives authorized supervisors real-time visibility into where field staff are currently working. It is intended for use by employees on behalf of, and with the knowledge of, the employer that has issued them the app — not as a general consumer location app.
3. Permissions This App Uses, and Why
Every permission below exists to support the attendance/field-tracking function described above — none are used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to that function.
Location — Fine & Coarse (while using the app)
Used to determine the employee's current GPS position and check it against the employer's configured geofence boundaries, for attendance verification.
Background Location ("Allow all the time")
Zee Employee Gps collects location data to enable automatic attendance marking and real-time field-staff location tracking even when the app is closed or not in use. This runs in the background so that:
- Attendance is still recorded accurately if an employee enters or leaves a work site without having the app open on screen.
- A supervisor's real-time field-staff view stays current throughout the employee's shift, not only while they happen to have the app open.
Background location is intended to be active only in connection with the employee's work use of the app (e.g. during configured work hours or an active shift), not for continuous personal tracking outside of that context — an employer's specific configuration should always be checked against this intent.
Exact Alarms (Schedule Exact Alarm)
Used to schedule precise, time-based location checks and shift-start/shift-end tracking windows, so attendance events are timestamped accurately rather than drifting due to inexact background timers.
Battery Optimization Exemption (Ignore Battery Optimizations)
Requested so that Android's battery-saving features do not suspend the background location service mid-shift, which would otherwise cause missed check-ins, missed check-outs, or gaps in the field-staff location view.
Autostart / Background Auto-Launch
On device manufacturers that restrict background apps by default (e.g. Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Huawei), this permission lets the app resume attendance/location tracking automatically after the device restarts, instead of tracking silently stopping until the employee manually reopens the app.
Notifications
Used to show the persistent status notification Android requires while a background location service is running, and to alert the employee of their own check-in/check-out events.
4. Data We Collect
- Precise location (GPS) data and the timestamp of each reading.
- Geofence entry/exit events — when a device entered or left a configured work-site boundary.
- Attendance records derived from the above — check-in time, check-out time, and work site.
- Employee identity — name and/or employee ID, as entered by the employer when provisioning the account.
- We do not collect contacts, photos, messages, call logs, or browsing history, and we do not access the device microphone or camera.
5. How We Use the Data
Location and attendance data collected through the app is used only to:
- Verify an employee's physical presence at a configured work site, for attendance purposes.
- Give the employer's authorized supervisors/administrators a real-time view of field staff location during work hours.
- Generate attendance logs and reports for the employer.
We do not sell location data, use it for advertising or profiling, or share it with data brokers.
6. Who Can See This Data
- The employer organization that deployed the app to the employee, through its own admin dashboard — the employer is the data controller for this data.
- Zaheer Abbas, as the app's developer, acting as a data processor solely to operate, host, and support the Service on the employer's instructions — not for our own independent use.
7. Data Sharing & Third Parties
- Attendance and location data is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection to the employer's own backend.
- We do not use third-party advertising networks in this app.
- If a crash-reporting, analytics, or push-notification SDK (such as Firebase) is bundled in the app, it must be listed here by name along with what it collects — confirm this against the actual app build before publishing, since an undisclosed SDK is itself a common cause of Play Store rejection.
- We do not otherwise sell, rent, or share personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
8. Data Retention
Location and attendance records are retained for as long as the employee's account remains active with their employer, and for a reasonable period afterward for payroll/compliance record-keeping, after which they should be deleted or anonymized. Employers are responsible for setting a retention period appropriate to their own legal and payroll obligations.
9. Your Choices & Rights
- You can revoke the app's location permission at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Zee Employee Gps → Permissions. Doing so will stop attendance tracking from functioning, since it depends on location access.
- You may ask your employer, or contact us directly at zaheerali666@gmail.com, to access, correct, or delete the location/attendance data associated with your account.
10. Children
This app is a workplace tool intended for use by adult employees at their employer's direction. It is not directed at, and should not be used by, children.
11. Security
Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS). Access to each employer's attendance/location data is scoped to that employer's own account. No system is 100% immune to breach; in the event of a breach affecting location data, affected individuals will be notified without undue delay.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
